Business Manager is a free Facebook tool designed for managing your Facebook Pages and ad accounts. By using a Business Manager, you can:

  • Manage access to your Facebook Pages and ad accounts – see who has access to your Pages and ad accounts and remove or change their permissions

  • Work with agencies – you can also share your Business Manager account with agencies so that they can help you manage your ad campaigns

  • Track your efforts, with detailed reports and visualization that show you how your ads are performing.

In just 4 simple steps, this guide will teach you how to do everything from setting up your account to sharing access. Let’s dive in!

Your Business Manager is officially up and running, it’s now time to set up your Facebook business assets! LET’S CONTINUE!

Add your Facebook assets to your Business Manager account

You have created your Business Manager, but as of right now there is nothing connected to this account. In order to manage your assets (pages and ads)  we will need to connect everything together. Steps 2 and 3 will help us get there. Let’s continue!

Step 2. Add your Facebook business page to the Business Manager account

This step allows you to manage your Facebook business page(s) all in one place.
There are 3 ways to add a Facebook page to your Business Manager

  1. Add a Page you own- This is a page your business already owns, claiming your page will move it into your Business Manager account.

  2. Request Access to someone else’s page- This is useful when you manage pages for clients or other business.

  3. Create a New Page– Only if you need to create a new page for your business.

We will be focusing on adding a page you already own. Let’s keep going!

Add your Page

2.1)  In the upper right corner of your Business Manager account, click the blue Business Settings button

›This will open a new window taking you to your Business Manager settings.

2.2)  In the toolbar on the left, under the tab “Accounts”, click Pages
2.3)  Click +Add
2.4)  Click Add a Page

2.5)  Type your Facebook business page name or URL

GREAT! You’ve now connected your business page to your Business Manager account. Next, is step 3 where we will add an ad account to your Business Manager.

Step 3. Add a Facebook ad account to your Business Manager

Similar to the previous step, there are 3 ways to add a Facebook ad account to your Business Manager

  1. Add an Ad Account you own- This moves an ad account you already own to your Business Manager account

  2. Request Access to someone else’s ad account- This is useful when you manage ads for clients or other business.

  3. Create an Ad Account- If your business has never run an ad you will create and ad account here. An ad account is required to run ads on Facebook

We will be focusing on creating a new ad account. Let’s keep moving!

Add an Ad Account

3.1)  From Business Settings in your Business Manager account, click Ad Account in the toolbar to the left
3.2)  Click the blue +Add
3.3)  Click Create a New Ad Account

TIPS: If you choose to Add an Ad Account or Request Access to an Ad Account, you will enter the ad account ID; you can find this in you Ads Manager.

3.4)  Fill in your account information

TIP: I would suggest creating your ad account name as your page/business name with the word “Ad” after. This makes it easy to find in your Business Manager and will help anyone you choose to share access with.

                 ›  Click Create Ad Account

3.5)  Add people to your ad account, make sure you add yourself

›  Assign your role as Ad Account Admin

         ›  Click Save Changes
